Therapeutics Associates Global PT Day of Service Relay

The Relay Specifics

This virtual fun event is designed for all (walkers, runners, skippers, etc).

  • Teams size is 4 humans
  • The event is four individual legs
  • Each leg is 45min in duration
  • Starting time is 10:00 am PST on October 10, 2020

About the Relay

  • Each Team Captain self-organizes your team.
  • How you choose to virtually pass the baton is up to you.
  • Among your team, we encourage you to interact, share photos, silliness, failures, and accomplishments.
  • At the end of the event,  we will reveal team stats and we will celebrate our accomplishments, virtually.

And most importantly, practice great social distancing.

This will be a unique GTSDR event in that it is part of the large Global PT Day of Service event that is put on by Move Together annually.  The profession of physical therapy is full of compassionate individuals who serve their communities daily and this event has become a great platform to unite and collectively serve causes that need it.  With the challenges we are facing related to social distancing during the pandemic, we at Therapeutic Associates feel that this relay event is a great way to serve the Portland community while staying safe.  We also feel that this is an opportunity for TAI to support a community that has seen significant challenges they are facing from socioeconomic issues, access to education, or racial injustice.  Having good mentors like the leaders with the Maurice Lucas Foundation is needed more than ever and we are proud to play a small role in helping their cause.

Virtual Bib

A customized team name will be emailed to the team captain.

Supporting Maurice Lucas Foundation

Partnering with the Maurice Lucas Foundation to support their mission of empowering inner city Portland middle school students in the classroom, in sports and with gaining experiences with leaders in the community.

The Maurice Lucas Foundation teaches kids lessons they can use to help them realize their dreams. Our academies show the importance of hard work, respect and leadership both in the classroom and on the court.

The number 20 hangs in the rafters of The Rose Garden, home to the NBA’s Portland Trail Blazers, honoring a great man. Maurice Lucas had a storied 14-year career in professional basketball, but off the court is where Maurice built his legacy. Maurice was truly a pillar in the Portland, Oregon community he called home. He touched the lives of many through his giving ways. Maurice passed away on October 31, 2010 at the age of 58. Today, the Maurice Lucas Foundation carries on his legacy by working with youth to help them realize their individual potential.
